The eighth annual WNY EquiFest will be celebrating the horse, horse people and the horse industry in the Showplex and the Agriculture Discovery Center on March 24 and 25, 2018.
Starting at 9 a.m. both days and ending at 5p.m.on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
With returning favorites and many new additions, free parking and no admission charge for the day events this family friendly weekend will provide educational opportunities and fun for everyone from the most experienced horsemen to those who have only admired horses from a distance.
EXCITING ADDITION TO THE WNY EQUIFEST DAY PROGRAM – Bill Minchew, from Bill’s Equine Solutions will be performing on both Saturday an Sunday during the regular EquiFest Schedule and will be conducting an Intro to Trick and Liberty Training Clinic on Saturday evening. A professional photographer will be on hand and a horse will be available if you want instruction on how to take the best possible photo of your child or grandchild with your phone, or get a professional picture of the family with a horse.
The all new Youth Booth will provide the younger set with some take home fun and challenges while the Family Fun Corral will provide some on site crafts with take home results. Breyer, makers of the world’s finest model horses, will be present again for Breyer’s Fun Day a great interactive experience for the younger set.
Renowned Gaited Horse Trainer, Gary Lane, is joining the EquiFest lineup, coming in from Kentucky to share his expertise and great teaching style with the crowd.
We are thrilled to include MARTY IRBY, the Senior Advisor on Equine Protection and Rural Affairs for the Humane Society of the United States in our 2018 list of Presenters. Irby will be sharing space with his long time friend, Carl Bledsoe, discussing the changes in the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry and addressing other issues critical to the Equine Industry in the United States such as: keeping horses out of the slaughterhouse pipeline and equine related legislation in the United States.
Carl and Tammy Bledsoe, from Marble Hill Georgia, will be presenting with Irby as previously mentioned, but will also be focusing on the wonderful natural gaits of Tennessee Walking Horses.
EquiFest is pleased to welcome Lindsey Partridge, from Ontario, Canada, winner of multiple Extreme Thoroughbred makeovers, and named the Canadian Horse Whisperer by the Toronto Star, as she brings her Harmony Horsemanship and Liberty work across the border.
There will be abundant bargain hunting, among the one hundred thirty plus vendors, for the shopping aficionados and a $2.00 donation to EquiFest’s future will get you a page of coupons worth at least $35.00 to increase your savings.
In cooperation with the Food Bank of Western New York we will be accepting contributions of non-perishable food items and cash donations for the Food Bank. All who contribute will be entered in a drawing for a WRANGLER gift card for a FREE pair of jeans.
