Meet Mac!

Meet Mac, a fluffy brown Newfoundland puppy born on May 30, 2025, and already stealing hearts across Western New York. At just 52 pounds (and growing fast!), Mac is proudly wearing his custom Buffalo Sabres jersey while training to become a service dog through WNYHeroes, Inc.’s Pawsitive for Heroes program. Named in honor of U.S. Army Sergeant Heath A. McIllin, Mac spends his days mastering naps, chasing his siblings, rewarding himself with plenty of treats during training sessions, and fueling up on Purina Puppy Chow. His brother Buck is also in service-dog training, so this big-hearted breed is doubling the impact for local veterans. Follow Mac’s journey on X or Instagram below!
