In recognition of Women’s History Month this Tuesday’s Testimonial is brought to you by a WNY Veteran spouse who has become a huge part of our Female Veteran Community. We have unanimously blessed her as a fellow female Veteran and taken her in. Because we are more than an organization. We are more than a Female Veteran Group. We are a family. If you are a WNY Female Veteran please check out our private Facebook group at WNY Heroes Female Veterans Group.

Amy, Thank you again for passing the crown to me. I am still completely shocked, I never ever would have expected to get the crown passed on to me because I was only a veteran’s wife. Every one of you women are so deserving. I look up to and admire every single one of you for serving our country!!! I can’t begin to express how much WNY Heroes, this group and all of you mean to me. WNY Heroes isn’t just an organization, we’re a family.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m the “adopted veteran”, I’m the widow of a combat veteran. My husband Terrance Rose passed away July 13, 2019. He was a combat Army Veteran and part of the Pawsitive for Heroes program. He suffered from severe PTSD, TBI among other things. There’s a lot that we went through together, both good and bad, WNY Heroes, Lynn, and Chris were always there for both of us. Even when Terrance was being a huge pain in the ass.

I want you all to know if anyone ever needs someone to talk to or anything at all I’m always here. I may not have served like the rest of you amazing women, but because of my husband I do understand a lot. I will always be here if anyone needs ANYTHING!!!

(P.S. I am so not a selfy person, but I will do my best to remember to take pictures with the crown)” – Jody Fellow Female Veteran Sister

I don’t know where to begin to thank this entire organization for welcoming me into the WNY Heroes family when I needed them. Your generosity and care for fellow veterans is unbelievable. When I first reached out to the Pawsitive for Heroes program I had no idea how personal and family-like the journey would be. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have my service dog, Shaina, in my life. This experience has already changed the life of myself and my family. Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do for veterans.
